Baby Carriers: I Highly Recommend the Beco Soleil

Baby Carriers: I highly recommend the Beco Soleil

My husband and I love, love, love to go camping and hiking.  One of the particular aspects of an upcoming hike that we would check on was the difficulty level of the trail.  We loved a challenge!

The bigger the rocks, the steeper the trail, the more dangerous the drop-offs the better!

Nowadays, however, we require a different set of features on our hikes.  We prefer hikes less than one mile in length, have absolutely no sheer drop-offs, and are as flat as possible…preferably downhill in both directions.

Why the sudden change in trail types, you ask?

I’ll tell you.  That would be three small children.

At this point, we have a good walker, an incredibly slow walker, and a four-month-old.  Obviously, the four-month-old needs some sort of mode of transportation, and since strollers aren’t allowed on a lot of  trails, Baby Mae becomes an accessory.  Literally, we wear her.  🙂

This post is written for mommies and daddies who enjoy hiking and are looking for some way to bring their bundle of joy along with them.

After spending tons of wasted money on baby carriers (the kind you wear) that were useless or uncomfortable, I finally landed on the Rolls Royce of baby carriers!

I recently purchased a Beco Soleil baby carrier.  It has more than met all of my expectations and requirements!

First of all, let me share with you what I wanted in a baby carrier:

  1. I can fasten myself without any assistance.
  2. Comfortable enough for her to sleep in.
  3. The straps are not confusing.
  4. I can fasten it at my sides instead of behind my neck.

All of my previously purchased baby carriers either ended up hurting my back, were too small for my butterball babies, or fastened behind my neck instead of on my sides.  That last one is a particular problem for mommies with long hair.  If you are fastening something behind your neck, trust me, you are going to wind up with a bald spot.

So if you are searching for the perfect baby carrier, I highly recommend the Beco Soleil!

It’s a tad pricey, but very worth it.  I used it on our last two camping trips, and everything went smooth as silk!  I was able to hike comfortably for several hours, my baby was able to sleep,  and the material was light and breathy.

You can also turn the Beco Soleil around and wear your baby on your back.  After experiencing so many baby carriers that I didn’t care for, I can truly say that I love this one!

Anyone else own a Beco Soleil and love it?  Let us know what you think!

Hi, my name is Lauren. I am the wife of one fine man and the momma of four (huge) young children – three boys and one princess! I love all of them. I mostly clean up messes and feed people all day, and it’s really fun to write about it. Jesus is the rock of my family – we love and serve a mighty King! I hope you leave here full of hope that “tired” can be good.

I love my diy linen wrap for back carries 🙂 and I’ve got a ring sling I use for quick in and out trips to the store. I’ve never tried one of these but it looks very similar to a Tula which I would love to own one day! Maybe for baby for baby #2…sigh.
